LEARN THE FUNDAMENTALS
Our workshops adapt martial arts principles for people of all ages, and any skill level. No previous experience required! We utilize slow, gentle hand blocking and striking techniques.
Think of it as “relaxed kickboxing” (without the kicking!) Sit, stand, your choice! The activities are as intense as each individual prefers.
FUN ELEMENTAL THEMES
Each seminar is based on a different element: Earth, Fire, Water, or Air. Participants will learn the significance of the element, and the techniques associated with that element.
LEARN SOME JAPANESE
Martial arts isn’t all physical. A portion of each seminar teaches the significance of the element in both Japanese culture and in martial arts. Participants will learn to write the element in Japanese.

COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
In martial arts, we’re all on the same team. Learn together, succeed together, and cheer each other on as we advance through the seminar.
RELAX AND DE-STRESS
Our seminars aren’t all punching and kicking. (In fact, that’s literally only half of the class.) Each seminar begins and ends with guided meditation/breathing. We’ll also take time to enjoy learning to draw/trace Japanese chacacters.
APPROACHABLE EXERCISES
Develop strength and balance through carefully structured exercises that build upon each other. Learn postures, striking, and blocking. Then learn how they flow together.
